Did Kylie Minogue Undergo Plastic Surgery?
Kylie Minogue is recognised as the best selling Australian artist of all time. Her career, spanning almost four decades, has been nothing short of unbelievable. Her ability to retain her youthful looks has led to Kylie Minogue plastic surgery speculations. One major speculation is her use of Botox.
Kylie Minogue Concerned About Aging
Kylie Minogue has expressed concerns about the effect of gravity on her aging face. She once said in DailyMail in 2012, ‘I am not going to lie about this. There are lots of times I look in the mirror and I see that gravity has taken hold. Or suddenly see my face on a phone or on Skype and it’s like a Spielberg special effect and you just scream, “Who is that?” ‘
She continued,‘I am not against surgery, I haven’t gone down that route yet, I don’t know whether I will but I am not against it. The only time it isn’t amazing is when it’s not done well or someone takes it too far.’
“I look at someone like Jane Fonda. I am a super-fan of hers. She doesn’t apologise (about her surgery) and she shouldn’t have to. We put make-up on every day, we tint, pluck, wax, we do anything to make ourselves look as good as we can and I think it’s pointless being hypocritical about something that if it’s done well can be really good’.”
Watch Kylie Minogue in an interview back in 2000. Her body figure was perfect when she performed in the Olympics:
Compare that to a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show. This is FUNNY:
So, looks like Kylie is not really against plastic surgery when its done in good taste. Given her worldwide fame, it is not surprising that her facial changes will spark rumors. One way to determine if Kylie Minogue has undergone cosmetic surgery is to look at her changes over the years. Let’s go!
Kylie Minogue Early Years (1986—1989) Charlene Robinson in “Neighbours”
Anyway, since we are talking about Kylie Minogue, we might as well go into the time machine and enjoy her past glories. The soap opera, Neighbours, was what catapulted Kylie Minogue to fame. Her onscreen romance with Jason Donovan – and that video “Especially For You” – created a connection with her fans for years to come.
Want to relive those episodes of Neighbours? Well, here’s one for you:
And here are some shots of Young Kylie Minogue, one with Jason Donovan. Obviously, botox was not necessary then:
Kylie had loads of natural beauty and that is more than enough. Those fizzy long hair was a trademark in the 1980s. Kylie Minogue had that cute girl charm since the beginning of her career.
Kylie Minogue – Locomotion and I Should Be So Lucky
Though Kylie quickly achieved fame in Neighbours, she wanted to have a go at singing. Her first single, The Locomotion, stayed at the Number One spot on the Australian singles chart for an amazing 7 weeks.
Want to know why? Well, start dancing and check out the catchy tune below:
“The Locomotion” single went on to win the ARIA award for the best selling single for that year. Her followup song “ I Should Be So Lucky” won the next ARIA award for the best selling single too. Kylie Minogue – 1990-1992 – Let’s Get To It
This is the period in Kylie’s career where many people assumed that she was influenced by her relationship with Michael Hutchence, the leader of group INXS. “Let’s Get To It” did not go as well as expected. It did not sell well and failed to hit the top ten album sales in UK.
But Kylie still kept her spirits up.
Check out her picture shot in 1990 and she still retains the charm. And obviously there is no work done on her face:
Kylie Minogue 1993-1998 Her Self Titled Album and Impossible Princess
Kylie Minogue’s self titled album proved to be a best seller. It did well in Europe and Australia. Her sixth album Impossible Princess went on to do well in Australia.
Due to her natural slim figure, Kylie Minogue did not really need to do much to look beautiful. Her natural enthusiasm made up for any area that was lacking. By 1998, she was in her early 30s, still looking amazingly beautiful.
Here is a photo showing Kylie Minogue in her launch for Impossible Princess:
Kylie Minogue 1999-2004 – Light Years and Sydney Olympics
Kylie Minogue remained focused on her music career. Her seventh album Light Years spawned a number one hit “Spinning Around” in UK. She went on to perform in the Sydney Olympics closing ceremony. Here, she is pictured attending the MTV European Music Awards in 2004:
You can say that Kylie is truly resistant to aging. At this point, she is 36 years old and looked as good as when she was 20 years old.
Kylie Minogue 2008 Brit Awards – Where The Botox Signs Started
It is about this time when photos of Kylie Minogue started to arouse plastic surgery speculations. In her appearance for the 2008 Brit Awards, her facial expression looked slightly “distorted”. Her cheeks looked artificially lifted and there was some “lump” in the upper area of her nose bridge. Check out this picture at the 2008 Brit Awards:
Kylie Minogue did admit to using botox and vowed not to touch it again. With her slightly weird looks. Botox experimentation is possible.
Kylie Minogue 2010 Brit Awards – Face Going Back to Normal
Kylie continued to have success in the UK. Her eleventh album Aphrodite debuted at Number 1 in UK and the single “All The Lovers” was a top ten hit in United Kingdom. Some of her other hits like Get Outta My Way, Better Than Today and Put Your Hands Up did not do so well but still made an impact in the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs Chart.
Here is Kylie Minogue attending the 2010 Brit Awards with her wide smile:
This time, her face looked more normal than in 2008. The unnatural nose bridge seemed to be fading away. There was still some stiffness in her smile though. But overall, Kylie Minogue has maintained her complexion extremely well. Check out her neck area which has perfect complexion despite being at age 42.
Kylie Minogue 2011 Munich Olympic Walk of Stars
Just when you though the effects of Botox is wearing away, Kylie appears in the Munich Olympic Walk of Stars event with a plumper face. It is hard to tell if its due to weight gain or facial fillers. What do you think? Check out the photo below:
Kylie Minogue 2012 – Looking More Natural Again
2012 marks the point where Kylie Minogue looks all natural again. Gone is the lumpiness on her upper nose. Her cheeks do not look puffed up anymore. What triggered the differences?
Seems like Kylie is truly staying away from plastic surgery from now on. Here is Kylie Minogue at the 2012 Gq Men of The Year Awards At the Royal Opera House:
Well, what do we see here? Natural looking cheeks, brighter smile, no more swollen upper nose. And probably, no more Botox.
Kylie Minogue in 2013 – Departure From Apparent Botox Effects
In 2013, Kylie Minogue split with her manager Terry Blamey who was with her since the beginning. At the same time, her appearances also show an apparent split with Botox and facial fillers. In the MTV Movie Awards in 2013, Kylie appeared free of any plastic surgery. Yes, she does look slightly more mature, but at least she looks like herself!
Check out the photo below and you will see a natural Kylie again:
Kylie Minogue 2014 – Kiss Me Once – Another Major Success
In 2014, the success Kylie Minogue have had over the years continued. Her Kiss Me Once album went to the Number One spot in Australia and number two in UK. She continued to look better and better in 2014. In the 2014 Logie Awards, she appeared all natural once again, without any lumpy appearance. And how did she preserve her neck skin so well?

Kylie Minogue 2015 – Looking her Best Again
In January 2015, other than scoring another Number One hit on the US Dance Chart with the track “The Other Boys”, Kylie appears to score maximum points for her natural looking appearance. And seriously, it is hard to find a finer example of someone who can recover from a poor bout of facial fillers or botox. Some say botched botox injections and facial fillers has no chance of recovery. Perhaps Kylie Minogue has proven otherwise.
Her appearance at the Qantas Australia Day Gala Dinner at Australia House shows her in her usual beautiful self. There is absolutely no signs of plastic surgery on her now. It proves that Kylie has stayed away from Botox since her admission to Elle Magazine back in 2009.
Kylie Minogue 2016 – Appearing at Brit Awards 2016
Despite Kylie Minogue’s busy schedule in 2016, she continued to forge partnerships with other artistes. In September 2016, she revealed that she will be working with Robbie Williams on a future album. Though busy, one thing is for sure, Kylie Minogue has found a way to battle aging effectively. Only she knows the secret as the photo below shows Kylie Minogue looking youthful and young:
Kylie Minogue at the 2016 Brit Awards looking bright and chirpy. Her taste of fashion is demonstrated in the photo. Her black hat and her black dress forms and absolute match. Her flawless facial skin and neck shows that Kylie has done a great job keeping herself young.
So, to summarise, Kylie Minogue still look superb today. Thankfully, she did not overdose on botox or facial fillers. When things started to turn excessive, she knew how to turn back. She is a shining example for all celebrities to follow.
Just so that we can see the changes in her, let’s put the images of her early days to her image in 2008:
And compare between 2008 and 2016:
Her work ethic, followed by an innate tenacity, enable her to dominate the US Dance Charts with each release of her album. For what she has been through (her recovery from cancer), it is amazing to see her have such an amazing zeal about life. We look forward to more great music from Kylie Minogue. What do you think of Kylie Minogue plastic surgery rumors? Is she still undergoing botox injections or has she stopped?
