Kim Hyun-joong is a popular South Korean actor, singer, dancer and the main man of the boyband SS501. As with many South Korean pop stars, there is the ever circling plastic surgery rumors around him. However, such plastic surgery rumors about Kim Hyun-joong is surprising to many. To many of his fans, he is the last person to be tempted by plastic surgery. Most of the plastic surgery speculations focus on his nose. Some netizens suggest that Kim Hyun-joong has undergone a nose job.

Who is Kim Hyun-joong?

Kim Hyun-joong, now aged 30, has got an attractive disposition. With a height of 1.82m and weight of 68 kg, Kim Hyun-joong cuts an imposing yet handsome figure on screen. It is no wonder that he is the heart throb of many female fans.

Kim Hyun Joong was a brilliant kid. He was the winner of many maths and art competitions. Academically, he came in first or second positions often in school. As such, not many peers expected him to become an artiste. However, when he picked up bass guitar in a band, everything changed. His love for music grew so much that he dropped out of school to be a singer. However, Kim Hyun Joong eventually went back to his studies and graduated in 2006.

Kim Hyun Joong soon embarked on the most successful phase of his career, being the leading man for SS501. Their debut album, Warning, was a huge hit in 2005. Soon, the group expanded their presence in the tough Japanese Music market.

Against all odds, SS501 managed to break into the Japanese market with the hit single Kokoro. Their two subsequent releases, Distance and SS501, were so successful that by January 2008, they were awarded the Japan Gold Disc Award. The hard earned award was special, because no Korean artists have won it before them.

Kim Hyun Joong decided to go solo for his mini album Break Down in 2011. The album was so successful that it exceeded 70000 pre ordered copies in just 10 days. The album sales went through the roof and sold 100.433 copies in one month of June. The album topped the charts in Japan and Taiwan too. Truly, Kim Hyun Joong was gaining momentum towards superstardom in the Korean pop scene.

Kim Hyun Joong’s physical appearance is his most important asset. Having won numerous icon awards and recognition, it is unthinkable for Kim Hyun Joong to neglect his appearance. The question remains whether Kim Hyun Joong really underwent the knife to fix his nose.

Kim Hyun Joong and Nose Job Rumors

Nose jobs are common among celebrities. There are also cases of botched nose jobs that require numerous corrective rhinoplasties to fix. Just think of what happened to the late Michael Jackson. However, with today’s advancement in plastic surgery techniques, such mishaps are minimised. So long as the plastic surgeon is experienced and the patient is not overly ambitious, nose jobs can result in a wonderful transformation.

Nose jobs are primarily used to reshape and resize the nose. Most Asians have a rounder nose and would want to have a sharper nose tip. As the nose is the central feature of the face, a well executed nose job can enhance a person’s looks greatly.

For Kim Hyun Joong, his before and after photos show little difference in his nose shape. His earlier photos show a slightly more bulbous nose than now. Kim Hyun Joong admitted to having a nose job done too. But he mentioned that its not for vanity purposes but for recovery purposes. He shared that his nose was the victim of a stone throw from some boys. The impact left him with no choice but to undergo surgery to fix his nose. Perhaps that explains why the outcome of his “nose job” is so subtle. He did not mean it to be a transformative surgery anyway.

Overall, Kim Hyun Joong does not look very much different from his younger days. To say that he underwent plastic surgery to look better is unfair. This is because his “nose job” was required to restore his nose after an accident. He never intentionally opt for the nose job. Nevertheless, his talent is what matters. Its not only being good looking and handsome, but Kim Hyun Joong has won the hearts of many fans with his great acting and singing skills.
