Did Julie Chen Undergo Plastic Surgery?
Julie Chen, a popular television presenter, has been the talk of the town regarding plastic surgery for the last few years. When earlier photos of her are placed beside her present photos, there were certain distinct differences in the appearance of her eyes and nose. That led many to believe that Julie has undergone the knife to look better on TV.
Julie Chen and Eyelid Plastic Surgery
On a television show The Talk, where some of the hosts were sharing some surprises, Julie Chen revealed in 2013 that she have had work done on her eyes to make them look bigger. She said,
“My secret dates back to — my heart is racing — it dates back to when I was 25 years old and I was working as a local news reporter in Dayton, Ohio. I asked my news director over the holidays, ‘If anchors want to take vacations, could I fill in?’ And he said, ‘You will never be on this anchor desk, because you’re Chinese.” “He said, ‘Let’s face it, Julie, how relatable are you to our community? How big of an Asian community do we have in Dayton?'” she recalled. “‘On top of that, because of your heritage, because of your Asian eyes, sometimes I’ve noticed when you’re on camera and you’re interviewing someone, you look disinterested, you look bored.'”

Julie Chen goes on to deny other plastic surgery accusations and went on to prove it by superimposing her before and after photos:
However, not all her family members agreed to the plastic surgery procedure. It was not only after much consideration that her mother decided to support, pay and be there for her during the surgery.
Julie was troubled by her family’s disapproval of the surgery. However, her pursuit for a successful news anchor career drove her to carry out the eye surgery anyway. And evidently, she has no regrets.
She said “No one’s more proud of being Chinese than I am. And I have to live with the decisions I’ve made. Every decision I’ve made…it got [me] to where we are today, and I’m not going to look back.”
Julie Chen and Nose Job Rumors
After admitting to the eye enlargement surgery, Julie Chen was rumored to have nose reshaping surgery as well. Julie emphasised that the difference in her nose shape is largely due to her makeup artist’s superb skills.
Julie Chen did reveal that rhinoplasty was an option she considered. After hearing from her grandmother that her nose shape is considered “good fortune nose”, she decided to leave her nose alone. In an amazing demonstration how she got the “sharper” nose, it really showed her makeup artist doing an impeccable job to get Julie her “pointed nose”. It cleared all questions about Julie Chen having had a nose job.
Today, Julie Chen is a household name in the news anchor arena. She has carved out a name for herself by pursuing her dream. It’s incredible the discrimination she had to go through to get to where she is today. Kudos to Julie Chen and may we see her on television for years to come.
